I virtually never take people to the airport when the leave from a visit. I usually have some good reason: have a work deadline, need to cover a nap for a kid… and I don’t love to drive that much. So Jim almost always does it.<\/p>\n

Now I know the real, subconscious reason I don’t like the airport thing: It’s sad. I took Nancy Jane to the airport today and I felt kinda sad all day long. Just to be clear – I always miss her when she leaves. I guess I just get to kind of gloss it over and get busy really quick so it doesn’t feel so… well, dramatic. Let’s face it – airports are just kind of dramatic feeling. All the people hugging at the curb and carrying big giant suitcases. They are leaving<\/em>. That’s just kind of sad.<\/p>\n

Not to be all depressing because we had such a lovely visit with NJ. She and Jim skied two days and they both kicked some serious booty on the slopes, I hear. (They were the ones telling me the stories… I’m just saying :-b) We ate lots of delicious food (a benefit of NJ visits each of both times per year) and had tons of great conversations. NJ even helped me get a really important work thingy done. Just goodness all around.<\/p>\n
